Footwear: Vietnam leather shoes output up 13.9 percent in first eight months of 2025
Vietnam’s leather shoe and sandal production in August 2025 was estimated at 34.4 million pairs, up from 33.7 million pairs in July. According to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Statistics Office, output in August rose 18.7 percent year-on-year.
For the January–August 2025 period, cumulative production reached 248.8 million pairs, an increase of 13.9 percent compared with the same period in 2024.
This strong expansion reflects robust demand from international markets, particularly the United States and Europe.
The footwear industry continues to benefit from Vietnam’s competitive labour costs, free trade agreements, and expanding production capacity.
Growth in leather shoes and sandals also highlights the sector’s role in sustaining employment and foreign exchange earnings.
Leather footwear remains a cornerstone of Vietnam’s manufacturing exports.
