Tourism: Vietnam welcomes 1.22 million visitors from Asia in July up 2.5 percent over June
Vietnam received 1.22 million visitors from Asia in July 2025, up from 1.19 million in June, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s General Department of Tourism.
This brought arrivals from Asia in the first seven months of the year to 9.63 million, an increase of 31.9 percent compared with the same period in 2024.
Year-to-date figures show strong recovery across nearly all Asian markets.
China remained the largest source with 3.1 million arrivals, followed by Korea with 2.55 million and Taiwan with 736,639.
Japan contributed 393,084 visitors, while the Philippines, Laos, and India also recorded robust inflows.
Growth rates varied by market.
July arrivals from China rose 56.9 percent year-on-year, India 53.3 percent, and Cambodia 44.2 percent.
Korea’s increase was more moderate at 2.6 percent, reflecting a steady but slower pace.
Visitors from Singapore, Malaysia, and Thailand all rose by more than 30 percent compared with July 2024.
The dominance of Asian markets highlights Vietnam’s reliance on regional tourism, especially China, Korea, and Taiwan, which together made up more than half of total arrivals.
Southeast Asian neighbours such as Cambodia, the Philippines, and Laos also delivered strong momentum, benefiting from improved connectivity and travel promotions.
With tourism contributing significantly to Vietnam’s services sector, the sharp growth in arrivals underscores the sector’s role in driving consumption and foreign exchange inflows in 2025.
