Stock Market: Vietnam's VN-Index falls but foreign investors return to strong net buying
Vietnam’s VN-Index closed at 1,624.53 on September 8, dropping 42.44 points or 2.55 percent, with total trading value at VND 53.17 trillion or US$2.04 billion, according to the latest data from the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange → view source.
Losses were broad-based, with large-cap, mid-cap, and small-cap indices all retreating.
The VN30 fell 2.07 percent, the VNMIDCAP dropped 4.03 percent, and the VNSMALLCAP slid 2.58 percent.
Foreign investors turned net buyers. They purchased VND 5.72 trillion or US$220 million while selling VND 4.76 trillion or US$183 million, resulting in net inflows of VND 965 billion or US$37 million.
