Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) production in Vietnam reached an estimated 59,100 tons in August 2025, up from 56,400 tons in July, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Office of Statistics.
Despite the monthly increase, August output fell 6.3 percent year-on-year.
From January to August 2025, LPG production totalled 534,900 tons, a 6.7 percent increase compared with the same period in 2024.
The growth underscores rising demand for LPG in households and industry, where it serves as both a cooking and heating fuel.
The divergence between monthly decline and cumulative gains highlights short-term fluctuations in output but points to stronger overall consumption trends.
LPG production supports energy diversification efforts and helps reduce reliance on coal and oil in certain segments.
