Fishery products: Vietnam imports fall 5.7 percent in August
Vietnam imported US$278.51 million of fishery products in August, down 5.69 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date imports reached US$2.15 billion.
India was the largest supplier at US$48.61 million, followed by Indonesia with US$35.62 million, Japan at US$35.82 million, and Norway at US$32.38 million.
China provided US$19.28 million, while the USA supplied US$11.02 million. Canada, Taiwan, and Chile also remained important sources, though several saw sharp month-on-month declines.
The data show Vietnam’s fishery product imports are broadly diversified across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, with notable strength in supplies from India and Southeast Asia.
