Vietnam’s crude oil imports rose to US$653.74 million in August, up 18.27 percent from July, according to Vietnam’s General Department of Customs.
Year-to-date imports reached US$5.20 billion.
Kuwait remained the dominant supplier with US$574.84 million, up 36.59 percent, accounting for 81.20 percent of the total.
Nigeria followed with US$78.90 million, down 4.20 percent, while no shipments were recorded from Brunei Darussalam in August despite year-to-date deliveries of nearly US$50 million.
The data underscores Vietnam’s reliance on Kuwait as its primary crude oil source, reflecting long-term supply contracts. Imports from other suppliers remain limited and volatile.
