Electronics manufacturing: Vietnam mobile phone output records slight fall in August
Vietnam produced 15.7 million mobile phones in August 2025, down slightly from 16.5 million units in July, according to the latest data from Vietnam’s National Office of Statistics.
August output grew 5.3 percent year-on-year.
For the January–August 2025 period, total production reached 124.3 million units, 1.9 percent higher than the same period in 2024.
This confirms Vietnam’s role as a key global hub for mobile phone manufacturing, driven by foreign-invested factories.
The slight month-on-month drop in August reflects cyclical production adjustments, but the year-on-year gains point to sustained global demand and export resilience.
Mobile phones remain one of Vietnam’s most important industrial products, contributing significantly to export earnings and employment in the electronics sector.
