In 2018, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) won an INR 11,700 crore order for setting up phase 1(3x800 MW) of a supercritical thermal power plant in Jharkhand. For India, coal has been a significant energy source in the past and still holds a considerable share in the country's energy generation sources.
