It aspires to reach a 95% recycling rate by 2030. Artificial intelligence (AI) is expected to play a major role in the future in generating and sorting waste. This will be done through initiatives that will see the light of day soon, such as integrating AI in sorting and recycling works. A total of 153 plots of land have been allocated to the private sector for recycling works, including factories and companies concerned with recycling, to encourage them to recycle waste in all its forms. The per capita share of waste in the country is 1.3 kg per day compared to developed countries, where the average is 1.58 kg per day.

This is a good indicator, and the ministry is eager to improve this percentage by raising public awareness, as well as the rate of recycling and re-conversion into energy and other uses. The ministry aspires to reach a 95% recycling rate by the end of 2030. It was keen to get rid of construction waste and entered into a contract with Qatar Primary Materials Company to collect and recycle such waste for use in new projects.
