In recent times, Artificial Intelligence (AI) has brought about profound changes: from generative chatbots and human-simulated videos to automation trends across various industries. AI not only drives economic growth and everyday life but also influences long-term government strategies and irreversibly changes human thinking. However, the uncontrolled development of AI entails numerous risks: violations of privacy, infringement of intellectual property, spread of misinformation, manipulation of perception, and even threats to human health and life, as well as impacts on national security and culture.
To balance risk management with fostering innovation, Vietnam has become one of the pioneering countries to enact the Law on Artificial Intelligence (AI Law), which was passed on 10 December 2025, and will take effect on 1 March 2026. This law lays the foundation for safe, transparent, and responsible AI development while opening opportunities for businesses and investors in the technology sector.
